AssetWise System Management Console Help

To Configure Active Directory Synchronization Settings

  1. Run AssetWise System Management Console.
  2. Ensure that Persons are created automatically upon login. For more information, see To Enable Persons to be Created Automatically Upon Login.
  3. Select the Active Directory node that you want to work on.
  4. Select the Options tab to see or change the default actions AssetWise will take when a community is synchronized with Active Directory and any of the following situations are encountered:
    Situation Options
    An Active Directory user exists with no linked AssetWise account.
    • Do nothing
    • Create new AssetWise person and account (default)
    An Active Directory user does not match criteria anymore with its linked AssetWise account.
    • Do nothing
    • Disable existing AssetWise account (default)
    • Delete existing AssetWise account
    An Active Directory user is enabled and its linked AssetWise account is disabled.
    • Do nothing
    • Enable existing AssetWise accounts (default)
    An Active Directory user is disabled and its linked AssetWise account is either enabled or disabled.
    • Do nothing
    • Disable existing AssetWise account
    • Delete existing AssetWise account (default)

  5. Expand the Active Directory node, and then select Synchronize Users.
  6. Before synchronizing a community with Active Directory, you can select a report that you want to run against AssetWise and Active Directory, from the list, and then clicking the Execute Action button ( ). For example,
    Your options are:
    • Do nothing
    • Enable existing eB account
    • List all Differences
    • List all eB Persons
    • List AD users matching criteria
    • List eB Persons with no Windows Account
    • Select users from Active Directory

The configuration is complete. You are now ready to run a synchronization.
